My wife, Stacy, and I were driving along the unpaved back roads through the mountains. As we rounded a bend, we came to a stop. Directly in front of us, two deer stood on the road. One side of the road dropped steeply down the mountain, while the other side rose sharply upward. Their options seemed to be either to run down the road in the direction we were headed or to pass us on one side of the car. Which path would they take? To our amazement, they chose to scale the sheer, almost vertical face of the mountain to reach the forest, which began at least 20 feet above. OMG! Stunned, Stacy and I exchanged looks of disbelief. Would all deer have made that choice, or is it something they learn as fawns, based on their local habitat? Would a Florida deer have chosen that route?

Humans learn from their surroundings. Growing up in Central Florida, I had the chance to hear Anne Gehman speak at her spiritualist church in Cassadaga, explore Edgar Cayce's writings from my mom's book collection, watch Uri Gellar stop the watches of over 300 audience members, including mine, at his show in Lakeland, Florida, attend psychic fairs, practice Kundalini Yoga, and participate in spiritual workshops. I felt a connection to the ocean's energy through surfing, the spiritual energy of crystals, and teachings from the heart. I enjoyed the privilege of navigating life with an open mind and an open heart. Your world may have been vastly different, so let me share a weekend that contributed to my truth.
An influential educational experience occurred during a weekend seminar at a Spiritualist Church in South Orlando. Matthew Manning from England conducted a three-day workshop on Healing. Around 30 participants of various ages attended. We started by lying flat on the floor as instructed. With our eyes closed, Matthew guided us to visualize familiar objects from our daily lives, like the front of our house from 50 feet away. He then asked us to continuously alter the perspective and color. We imagined a man on a camel moving around from the back. We entered the house, observing the walls, ceiling, and other elements. This exercise spanned many hours over the three-day session, with visualizations becoming more abstract, such as entering the front door and sticking our head into the wall to look around. Eventually, we were guided to mentally construct a medical laboratory, complete with any necessary tools, like a table for a patient to stand or lie down on, or a brush for sweeping cancer from an afflicted person. After this, we began using our newly created labs.
Matthew gave each of us a piece of paper and a pencil, asking us to jot down the name, age, and city of someone we knew who had an injury or illness. We then partnered with someone unfamiliar and swapped our papers. In turns, one person imagined the individual they knew, while the other envisioned the stranger in their mental lab. We were instructed to look within the person and identify their ailments. Remarkably, over 80 percent of the participants accurately diagnosed the conditions.
I had received the name and address of an elderly gentleman. I put him in my lab on the observation table. When I looked inside his head, an entanglement of black lines popped out in all directions. I interpreted that as him being senile. When I looked down through his body I noted that the bones at his right knee were crushed together, emitting a red glow. I thought that he probably needed the assistance of a cane to walk. I was exactly right.
Matthew wrapped up our workshop by stating that healing someone could be as straightforward as placing them in your lab and utilizing your tools to eliminate the diagnosed afflictions. For instance, I might use my brush to untangle the lines of senility. I've relied on that lab I developed throughout my life. Although I've incorporated other, more widely acknowledged techniques, such as Reiki, that lab remains my preferred space for healing.
Understand that you possess psychic abilities. You are a healer. You have the potential to do things that you might currently view as extraordinary. You can let your heart guide you to anything or anyone you desire. Your heart has led you here, so you are on the right path. Trust your heart.
